I'd start out with a major C--
coz it's simple, and simple things are
safe, pure, and mostly easy.
But sometimes you surprise me enough
To rewrite you with one or two sharps
Perhaps a major G?
I'll try my luck
Maybe we'd move to an D flat major
Fingers stretched to reach all the black keys
A change of key might be uneasy
Suddenly, all we hear is B flat minor
A little bitter, and very much sour
Will anyone ask
If we can transpose back to C major?
